Innovation..

According to the website BusinessDictionary.com, innovation is defined as

"The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value or for which customers will pay. To be called an innovation, an idea must be replicable at an economical cost and must satisfy a specific need. Innovation involves deliberate application of information, imagination and initiative in deriving greater or different values from resources, and includes all processes by which new ideas are generated and converted into useful products. In business, innovation often results when ideas are applied by the company in order to further satisfy the needs and expectations of the customers."

Case Study: Bucks County Reading Olympics
Pennsylvania counties hold yealy reading competitions know as Reading Olympics or Battle of the Books. Reading Olympics is held for grades 4 through 12 and Battle of the Books includes adult in addition to school age competitions. While attending my daughters Reading Olympic event for Bucks County, I discovered that NO software was used to manage the events. Everything was done MANUALLY! Ouch! Painful!
I immediately began searching for a solution, COTS or otherwise, that would alleviate some, if not all, of the pain involved with planning, organizing and scorekeeping Reading Olympic events. It wasn't long before research revealed NO software solution EXISTED even though these events have been around for almost 20 years. These events are HUGH. Planning and organizing consume most of the school year. Bucks County alone has approximately 13 school districts comprised of 160+ schools.

Time to innovate! ....Introducing Tournaventz! A TRUE multi-tenant web based Event Management Solution developed with Microsoft ASP.Net, C#, AngularJS, Javascript and SQL Server.

SBTI developed Tournaventz to relieve the PAIN of planning, organizing and managing these events. Time spend on these events has been reduced by am much as 90%. 90%! Tournaentz SAVES all involved a LOT OF TIME and MONEY. Teachers, Librarians and Administrative staff reap hugh benefits because more of their time IS NOW available for other student related activities.

"We have been using the TournaventZ system for over a year for our Bucks County Reading Olympics. It has been extremely helpful to have a system that allows all of our competition details and team information to live in one place. With the very tedious job of planning such a large scale event, it is important that we use a dependable system. Bucks County Reading Olympics has teams participate from all 13 Bucks County school districts and many charter and nonpublic schools. TournaventZ has made the process of pre-registering, registering and scheduling almost 5,000 students an easier task. We are able to easily pull reports at anytime and send out bulk emails to building coordinators. The TournaventZ system has been a true asset to our organization"

Case Study: Greysteel, Mailchimp and Salesforce Govenor Limits
Using Mailchimp as their email marketing campaign provider, the volumne of API calls between Mailchimp and Salesforce to record statistics for clicks and opens far exceeded the daily Salesforce API Govenor limits.

Not wanting to replace Mailchimp, an innovative, resourceful solution had to be found.

SBTI proposed and developed such a solution using REST, Batch APEX, Fast JSON and JSON. It wasn't easy, architecting for Fast JSON, navigating Salesforce Governor Limits and building it to be reliable proved challenging. The solution runs nightly with minimal API calls and provides daily statistics regarding clicks and opens for emails in each campaign over a rolling 30 day period. Each night, 500,000 to 1 million rows of data are brought into Salesforce and prepared for next business day consumption.

Thats thinking outside the box!
